"Our greatest natural resource
is the minds of our children."
-Walt Disney-
A child has the most unpretentious
ability to say or do funny things and bring
a smile to your day...
With that in mind, I want to share with you one of those funny sayings invented by a little boy.
(If you also have stories to tell about kids saying some brilliantly funny things and is willing to share it with us, please e-mail it to me at brilliantsonline@gmail.com with the subject "kids chat" so I can put it in this blog for everyone to enjoy.)______________________________
At the age of four, a little boy I know was entertaining himself sitting in the garden in front of their house, red-tipped paintbrush in one hand and in the other a red-blotted snail.
He was right in the middle of this decorating project when the amused voice of his mother made him stop and look up, eyes widening with confused surprise. "Darling, don't paint the poor snail! All the other snails are going to laugh at him when they see how red his shell is."
Well, that's something he never thought of! He jumped to his feet almost stumbling with haste and disappeared to a secluded spot around the corner of the house. Smiling at this act of immediate obedience, his mother returned to the kitchen and her task of preparing dinner.
After a while she went outside again to check up on her son who was peculiarly silent - only to find him thoroughly painting the same unlucky snail, his mouth pouting in utmost concentration... This time with a whole audience of snails lined up in front of him.
"What are you doing, darling?" She asked with a sigh. "Didn't I tell you not to paint the snail?" He looked at her frowning: "But Mommy, I want to hear what snails sound like when they laugh!"_____________________________
